A revhead whilst hiking, witnesses a ritual where a group people are sacrificed giving the perps powers. Something goes wrong and he ends up some power then has to run for his life. eventual he fights back.

I initially thought it might be a redhead, but the OP spells it 'revhead' twice. So I'm inclined to think its a regional term corresponding to the UK's 'petrolhead', someone obsessed with cars, where the louder you can rev the vehicle's engine, the more impressive your penis substitute :-)

A gamer? Since when do gamers go hiking - most of them never leave their mothers' basements :-)

You, sir, are prejudiced.
Coincidentally, the first episode of the new series of Dr Who aired fifteen minutes after your post.
It started with a girl/boy romantic scene, the boy giving the girl a certificate showing that he'd named a star after her.
The story then switched to ten years later when the girl was abducted by killer robots.
It turned out the girl had dumped the boy because he was too controlling. Being a gamer, he became an incel. The robots came for him first because he had bought the certificate naming the star their planet orbited, and he was converted into a cyborg and head of the robots. He arranged the abduction to turn the girl into a cyborg too.
The day was saved and I believe the girl becomes Dr Who's latest assistant.
Everything is so achingly woke that it is likely the new series is the worst ever.

That didn't make sense in the context the op used, so (cheating) I looked it up.
A game for car enthusiasts.
I don't think that makes any more sense in context than a general care enthusiast.
A revhead is Australian slang for a car enthusiast with only slight anti social elements but not a hoon. A Hoon is someone who uses his car to create a disturbance and show off to his mates. (burnouts, drifts etc all done in in suburban streets)
