Winery Story

Sparky-1953 🚫

Old story about a tourist or weekender stopping at a winery. He may have had his wife or family with him. Vague memories of an old gate (or possibly a doorway) being spooky or being involved somehow. I think he eventually gets bound up with the winery somehow. I read this quite a while ago and it may have been on the 5 letter site.

The only story that I recall with a winery in it, is black coffee's The Gunny and Lenore where Lenore's parents pass down their TX ranch and move to Napa Valley where they revive a money losing winery. Course there might be others, but either I haven't read them or have forgotten about them…. If you expand things a bit to include farms with grapes on the side there's also Dual Writers Recluse and Ghost which has its own spooky Ghost and mountain….

@geeko

Thanks for the try but the one I'm trying to remember is probably close to 10 years older than those. It was a guy and maybe his family stopping at a random winery, maybe for a wine tasting. Vague memory that it might have been somewhere in California's gold country.

I actually have a winery in two of my stories. But neither one of those is anything close to what they are looking for.

@weejock

Again, thanks but don't his stories take place in Texas? It's been about a decade since I read them but that was my recollection.

I looked at his/her stories yesterday and nothing looked even remotely like a match.
