A while back i read a story about a guy who was able to pre-pack a container of a specific size, with everything he wanted to take back in time. When back in time, i remember he spent a lot of time making a palisade. Later, a woman was sent back in time as well but she tried to steal his stuff so he kicked her out.
Hoping someone knows what this story was called? I didn't have any luck finding it via time travel or far past searches.

Some more details, he ends up wanting to move to a distant location and so he builds a series of towers between his current and new location. Then he uses those to migrate somehow, i forget the details.
I think he also couldn't bring a motor, but he brought parts to make one so he could generate power from a river? a

I Was a Modern Caveman by A Acer Custos has a storyline like that, though I don't remember a woman being sent back and stealing. It's been several years since I read it so maybe.
