Lost magic story sequel

akarge ๐Ÿšซ

This is embarrassing.
Last week, I read the most recent chapter update on a story. Today, I can remember almost anything about it, EXCEPT the title ans author

Story is an authorized sequel to an earlier story by a different author. Can't remember his name either.

Teenager in Georgia gets a magic primer and happens to live near a mana wellspring. He learns magic, and interacts with other mages. Finds he is a wizard. In the sequel, he gets into a major dispute with some bad guy mages. Allies with the Fae, gargoyles, dragons, etc. Oh, and Ogrenaut.

Title or Author of the sequel would be appreciated.

Never mind. Found them.

Magic 101 by Reluctant-sir. I was searching for an author name STARTING with Sir.
Sequel is:
Magic 201 by errm. Dang it. Forgot again.
Irish writer. That's it.

Sigh, this is what surviving to 70 gets you.

Just remember the only alternative to getting old is dying young. I do vaguely remember being 70 a long time ago

I vaguely remember being 70, also. I think it was...maybe 2 or 3 months ago. I think it was months, not days or years.

At least you can still read the stories. My mother has a friend who is nearly 93 and her eyesight has gotten to the point that even with a tablet there is no typeface big enough for her to read consistently. She's had to convert entirely to audio books, mostly from the library.

Heck, the only reason she can use the tablet is because it was setup for her to take voice commands for everything and it only has a few apps: a magnifier, the library app, etc.

I know there are devicesw that scan a page and pronounce it out loud, but I don't know how good they are and what their vocabulary is.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for when my mother gets to that point, but I think it's a lost cause for the friend. Even a voice-activated tablet is pushing her a bit. She's never used a computer, I'm not sure if she ever even worked. I think she was a stay-at-home mother.

Nothing wrong with that, but pretty much everything post mid-90s is new to her.

They say the only good thing about getting is that it doesn't last long.
