Trying to find a story but cannot remember title or author.
This is what I remember of the first chapter. A man is leaving his office on his fourth wedding anniversary and is served with divorce papers. The story tells of his service and getting a degree on the G.I. Bill. Meets a girl, marries her and she goes to university to become lawyer. She starts with a major legal firm and it goes pear shaped for him from there. At he end of the chapter he is taken to his office manager's home where he meets her twin daughters. (There could a third daughter but not same age as twins, no triplets ). One of the females, but not wife, is called "Mitzi".

p.s. I sometimes think this is the start of "the long good-bye"
