I read a story several years ago. The main character was a famous guitarist turned producer/recording studio owner. He begins teaching guitar to a child. Child's mother doesn't know the Mac was famous at one time. One of many stories that referenced a father daughter family band.

It's by Bebop3, one of his Pueblo, CO, stories, many of which have been pulled from SOL. Lemme see if I can find it.

I believe that is https://storiesonline.net/s/21982/no-strings-attached-by-cheryl-terra by Cheryl Terra and Bebop3. Cheryl subsequently removed all of her stories, but since that one had a co-author (something the site no longer supports) it missed the cull.
She has her own site, and DuckDuckGo tells me it is there as well (and Amazon, and Patreon).
Bebop3 also removed it, and it's not listed on his page.
I think that happened automagically when Laz removed support for multiple authors.
So had I, I had thought it was Cheryl Terra only, but my browser had it in its history (once I'd worked out the name in my downloaded stories) and - much to my surprise - the link was still valid.
Sounds more like "These Girls Can Play" by Dr. Paco Jones. One of the best scenes is where one of the girls is subbing for a guitar player in an older famous band, and rips the piss-poor performance of the older group's drummer.
