I remember it was about a successful writer, or novelist, who moves into a new town where he meets a woman with two or three daughters. He learns that one of the daughters was once assaulted by a boy in town, but the police couldn't be bothered to investigate it because the one she accused was a relative of the sheriff... or something.
The whole town doesn't really understand what he does for a living, only knowing that he's rich, so rumors circulate. Once he gets close to the woman, he uses those rumors to help her. He has his publisher send a (mostly friendly) biker gang to town the next time he's scheduled to hand in his written manuscripts, and dresses up as a member of that gang. They make a big show of exchanging suitcases inside the local bank. His contains the manuscripts, and the one he receives contains his royalties in cash, which he immediately deposited so everyone knows those bikers gave him money, causing the inhabitants of that town to be scared of him. Then he uses that fear to force the police into investigating the assault on the daughter.
It's possible he also fucked the daughter(s), but I'm not sure about that part.
