Whether anyone is going to do anything about "free" ebooks that are floating around, I don't know.
gutenberg.org has many free ebooks, sorry rules say i can't link.
We were talking about Zenna Henderson's People stories and Dicrostonyx wrote about their copyright (therefore not on Gutenberg). The sentence I quoted above is about "free" (=pirated) eBooks from pirate sites like Genesis.
BTW, The first six stories, tied together by the narrative of Lea, were published by Doubleday as Pilgrimage: The Book of the People, in 1961. The next stories were tied together with the Assembling idea after being rearranged into the People chronological order, titled The People: No Different Flesh, and published by Doubleday in 1967.
Ingathering โ The Complete People Stories of Zenna Henderson, NESFA Press, 1995, contains all 17 People stories, including one (Michal Without) never published before.
AFAIK, only print editions, no eBooks except pirated versions.
