Story was active within the last year or so. Teens were entering dungeons in Canada. M/C finds out he's a fugitive from a star empire. he has the power to scan and adopt the bodies of other life forms. He also has an evolving spaceship. Don't know if finished.
The author has a Patreon page, where it looks as though further chapters have been posted at the start of this year.
As to how that fits in with this site's rules about keeping close to the posted content here :shrug:

A quick update
Hey!
Just wanted to let everyone know what's happening. I've got 9 chapters left to summarize and add anything new to the glossary, at which point I'll be fixing up chapters 84 and 85 so I can post them. Ideally that might be by the end of the week, but I can't guarantee anything. Much more likely is new chapters beginning next Monday(Feb 14), and then there shouldn't be anymore delays like this."
Author also has a Discord page, but he hasn't posted anything on there sense Jan 31st.
Looks like he also hasn't posted any updates to his Patreon account sense early Feb.
