Pretty much every scene with a martial arts scene ;)
The one I think of with this description is "Deja Vu ascendancy "
If I'm not mistaken in most Eastern cultures this is referred to as Chi or other words that translate to equivalent.
It's not actually unique to the East but that is were it is most prevalent, same as martial arts they are not solely Eastern, some fighting techniques from the middle ages are referred to as martial arts and I believe this is the origin of the term.
Deja Vu Ascendency is one story. I loved the story and the concepts - only thing I didn't like was that the protagonist talked waaayyy too much.
Another story with a similar concept is The Spark, by Zoras. It's a good read.

Fair warning: At the time it was completed, Deja vu Ascendency was by far the longest story on SOL. Not sure if it still is, but be prepared for a long-assed read.

It has been surpassed by Three Square Meals for length.

All I can say is "Wow" and thank you very much to the authors mentioned, and others, for the enjoyment they have given us by writing.
Sounds like Deja-Fu, a mythical martial arts invented by the late great Terry Pratchett in the 'Thief of Time.
Not to be confused with "Ecky (or Ekky) Thump" which is referenced peripherally in chapter 6 of BarBar's Bec2 Thanksgiving.
