I have a recollection of a story that has maybe as a predulde / intro a band of people (possibly the front of a small army ?) 'returning' to a space station around Earth, possibly with a beanstalk to the ground ...
I *think* the main story starts quite a while before that, and spreads across various planets before they come back ? And I have no idea what story this is :)
Ring any bells with anyone here ?
Given Amazon have this as the description, "Stephanie Kinsella is your run-of-the-mill professor of physics at Caltech. Well, maybe not all that ordinary as she's a little young, half Jamaican and all attitude. On the other hand, she knows where to aim...", I don't see how it relates to my recollection - and it definately rings no bells ...
There was one where they started on a space station, then ended up going through dimensional gates with body changes. I can't remember the name of it, but IIRC, the author pulled it from here.
he was a disabled vet with severe body loss. There are multiple dragons that present tests and give awards. When entering the realm you choose which race you'll assume. The story has been dormant for a year or two. I think Wolf was part of the story or authors name.

While it is not a "Space Station" there are locations between the Gates that are not dissimilar to a "space station" although they also have similarities to "Save Points" in a computer/video game.
In the first dozen chapters the MC believes he is merely in an "Ultra-Tech" VR game. Only as he "levels-up" does he begin to have more options at these "Save Points / Space Station" locations.
So, Demigod of War may well be the story the OP is searching for.
I already said - it's not that one.
I specifically stated a space station with what I believe was a beanstalk connected to it ... DoW has none of this.
Don't get me wrong - DoW is a good story (I've read it) but this one I'm after is something else.
I remember the beginning he is looking for and it was a prologue that was retrospective. The fighting was over and the group trying to take the Earth over was defeated. The male commander and his female lover/subordinate were at the top of the beanstalk looking down at a very damaged Earth and contemplating how things had got to this point. I, too, seem to remember it as the original beginning of DoW. I read the first few chapters as they were posted then waited until a larger sample of several more had been posted before resuming. At that point the beginning was different. Is it possible that the author had changed the beginning? I have a vague recollection that Mad Wolf had paused it at some point early on to make a few changes.

That's the ticket ... but you too think DoW ??? Like you, I read a bit but as there wasn't a lot of chapters, I planned to come back to it; and when I did, no intro as I recalled hence me thinking it must have been something else ...
Hmmm ... anyone else recollect the description above & put it on DoW too ?

Well ... they're premier membership now, so I can't get to this one & check :(
However ... on his own site, this text makes me think "no, not this either" :
"An Extinction Level Event occurs on Earth and propels him and his friends nearly 500 years into the future."
Mike Cropo's stories may be premier now but there is a large unrestricted teaser at the beginning of each book and none contain that scene.
I did try Eden & Elves several times, but never could get into it ... my loss, no doubt, given the positive score & comments.
