Banadin isn't using that pen name except on SOL. Its Ed Nelson. Actually his first name is Earl, but perhaps he isn't willing to have nobility associated with his stories.

To avoid running multiple cron jobs at the same time and potentially overload the system.
On FS, the script that releases scheduled chapters runs at 8:00:03 EST. SciFi at 8:00:05 EST. AM and PM.

I'd been finding new chapters appearing at around 11pm in Australia, just in time to get in the way of plans to have a good night's sleep before work the next day! :)
Since he's just completed book 14 in the series (the current SOL postings are a revised book 1 - 3) there's a LOT to come. However, I'm guessing he'll wait until the new spike in sales triggered by that one 3 book posting will have to peter out before he gets around to posting the next set. But it was nice to have that to start each day. It was just enough to be involving without taking up a significant past of your day. Just enough to whet your whistle and keep you engaged, without overwhelming you. The rest of the books are very similar, but the chapters lengths will likely increase substantially, as the number of complicating factors increase substantially.
