is a great story. i can't help but be happy when the mc is having good things in his life. but i want to know if it has a happy ending. i don't want to know why or how just that its a happy ending. i can't continue reading and he dies a pitiful death and i end up depressed for months afterwards

Sometimes not even the author might know where he plans on taking the story.
There are some other authors who always wait to finish writing a story before they start posting it here. In that case at least the proof-reader might know how the rest of the story will go.
