I posted a short story this morning called Tongue Tied and Terrified. In the author note I included a link to an audio file - a blues song I created to go with the story called Woke Up This Morning (Tongue Tied & Satisfied).
Several of my stories are inspired by songs I love. This experiment is the reverse - write a lyric based on a story, and then set it to music, which I did using Suno (yeah... I don't sing like the voice on the recording).
The idea for this came from reading and enjoying Matt Twassell's illustrated stories. When I proposed it to Laz, he kindly agreed to host the audio file.
What do you think of the idea? Did you like the song? Did the song enhance the story for you? Flaws in the execution? Would you want to see more like this?
