Since the last update of tycoon was in 2012 and the last update of their blog mentioned tumors being removed, is it safe to wonder if they died of cancer and thats why the story hasnt been updated?

I've never heard an official confirmation of his death, but given his health issues, it's generally assumed that's what happened.
That's one story I wouldn't mind seeing finished by someone else, if they can work through any potential copyright issues.

Hasn't happened.
They're alive?
Who, exactly, is "they"? He and a spouse or cowriter? If so, it's entirely possible something happened to one and not the other (if they used the same account). Or he might just be in ill-health or just lost his mojo and can't write anymore.
That is why I always say to enjoy what they have shared. Even when they leave us wanting more. Or something happens which stops the writing.

And nothing says you can't enjoy a decent story, even if it's incomplete. Hell, some of the best stories on the site are incomplete, and I'd rather have them than not.

Case in point, Rewind, by Don Lockwood. One of my all-time favorite stories, it's incomplete and my understanding officially abandoned so it will never be complete. I regularly reread it, and am happy to have it, unfinished though it may remain.
GM Wylie has an amazing story that is incomplete and inactive. And she's said on her website that she won't get back to it anytime soon. Messerschmitt and Spitfire is the title, IIRC.
Makes me a bit sad when authors abandon really good stories. A Masters Ring by El Sol is another one.

We've discussed "Messerschmitt and Spitfire" many times (at least on the old Google forum), and it's a favorite of many on SOL. However, in Gina's case, she wrote herself into a corner and like many authors, had no idea how to extricate herself. Rather than write an unsatisfactory conclusion, she simply shelved it awaiting a better approach, which unfortunately never developed.
Still, it's a question would you rather never having read it (which would have happened if she decided never to post an unfinished story) or would you rather enjoy the incomplete story?
Also, she says she has stopped writing erotica, and as such will never finish 'Messerschmitt and Spitfire'. She also gets extremely irate when readers bug her about it, do don't.

Despite having a long term relationship with her (I post stories to her site), her policy about writing erotica is what eventually turned me off to her stories.
Instead of simply saying "I don't want to write any more", she started including snide jokes inside her newer stories (like when an astronaut sneaks a little 'pussy' into the space ship, which she later reveals in their pet cat). I saw that as her attacking the very people who'd been supporting her, and lost a LOT of respect due to her belittling her fans (a big no-no for me).
I understand her position, but I've always felt she went overboard in her response to it. I also understand why she never finished the story (I still content it was story issues, rather than the more general 'no more erotica' restriction (she still allows porn/erotica on her website, so she's hardly banning it).
That, and her crap attitude towards folks of the wrong political persuasion. It isn't cute or intelligent to belittle the 'dims' or toss around 'liberal' as a pejorative. Makes one almost happy she'll share the blame for Trump these days.

That's what turned me off to her stories, and her site. I don't give a damn how supposedly good the story is. I don't care to be insulted by the author. That's what Facebook is for! ;)
At this point, if she went back & completed S&M, I wouldn't read it.
I'm here for the smut. If an author wants to write page after page about why his character votes democrat or wants to build a wall to keep out illegals, that's fine with me as long as he's banging a cheerleader harem at the same time.
That's why I still go by once in a while to check on new stories. But politics shades most of the discussions over there. And I do take the political leanings of those I read into account, even if it is just to account for bias.
