Just posted a new story and there's not enough votes for a public score yet, but all of the votes I have are 8 of 10s. That translates to 6.63.
That's a little lower than I expected (I would've guessed 6.9ish). Still cool to see how the algorithm shakes out the value.

Again, the story's score is adjusted in comparison to the other scores during the same period. So sometimes the adjustment will push your scores up, while other times it'll take it down.
That's probably why so many authors post of the less busy days, so their story will get a fairer rating than posting it on either a Monday, Friday or Saturday.

The period in question isn't today, or this week or even this month.
Lazeez has said several times that the "periods" for purpose of score adjustment are defined by the points in time where the scoring system change, and that there are only 3 or 4 periods to cover the entire history of SOL.
