Time for a major rant. I am using MS word 2007. It indicates that contractions and the word lady, Ladies, Guy and Guys are incorrect.

My style and my upbringing are that there are many flavors of men and women. Some are guys and some are just men. some are ladies and some are just women. I speak in contractions, so I write using them. does anyone know how to turn the auto-correct for these two things off.

Before I get recommendations for Libre office or word perfect, I have tried them both and don't like them. It took me eight years to upgrade from Word 2003.

I use Word 2007 as well and don't seem to have that problem...

Can you add the words in the dictionary when they are picked up by the spellchecker?

Thanks folks, I am just set in my ways, and find most of the PC stuff to be crap.

So a guy might be in tents.

You should turn off all auto-correct, it is nearly as likely to replace the correct word which you spelled correctly with another that will make no sense. Otherwise your main character may end up going to The Home Deport store to buy some lumber.
