How long to wait.

oldegrump ๐Ÿšซ

I have a list of serialized stories in my library that I have bookmarked.

Some have less than 5 chapters, and no updates in a year. How long should i wait to drop them from the bookmarked list?

I, as an author know there are many reason to have delays in publishing, but a lot of these authors hav epublished other stories since.

When does Lazeez mark them inactive?

I believe it is at one year from the last update.

As to the rest of the question, It is up to you when to drop it. I have a few that are bookmarked and inactive. Generally if it is a story I really like I will sit on it a while. Some I take off the queue and leave them in the library. If it was a ho-hum story to begin with and the author has a reputation for Incomplete/Inactive stories I may dump it completely.

I seldom remove any story from my bookmarks or reading queue, but the truth is that if the author is one who dribbles out chapters at the rate of one a month or even less frequently than that, I will abandon the story regardless of how good it is. I read every day and can no longer keep storylines, characters, etc. straight in my head when there is a big delay between chapters. Waiting for the author to finish the story before reading sounds good in theory, but I forget I was waiting for it to finish and it gets lost in the archives. Besides, I ain't gonna live long enough for some of the authors on SOL to finish their stories. For that matter, neither are they.:(

thank you, those responses parallel my thoughts, but I did not want to dump a story if is going to be finished.

I just get frustrated when a story has two or three section posted quickly, and then nothing more.

@oldegrump

I have a sort of informal "To Do" list of things I do every solstice and equinox: change the brush heads on my SonicCare, disinfect my CPAP, etc. Lately that list had included adjusting the dead wood in my SOL library.

By that I mean that I down-tick the rating of every ongoing un-updated story by 1 point. When the story hits zero I delete it, no matter how much I loved it.
