I noticed that followers are on my home page. While browsing my stories I notice a small green flag near the story title. There are other icons showing. Green solid circle, and some others.
Is there any place on the site where this icons are explained?

Those are the flags.
The green dot is for Read/Unread. When you access a story, the green dot turns grey.
The flag is for flagging stuff and batch selections. You can have the flag mean whatever you want it to mean. You can search for flagged stories, you can filter flagged stories. You can batch bookmark flagged stories.
The green arrow shows up for stories you've downloaded the archive for. When you download a story in Zip, text, epub or kindle file, the story is marked with a green arrow. If the story gets updated after you download it (even with a repost) the green arrow goes away.

While I prefer reading through toilet paper tubes. You roll your eyes, but I remember doing that as a kid. It's strange thing things you remember as you age. Nothing valuable, but you retain ALL the utterly idiotic things.
