This is particularly apt, as it not only applies to learning how to write, but also details the process of writing any particular book: watever your plans, you essentially start from nothing, and learn about your characters 'as you go'.

Yep. That's the one. Unfortunately, I don't use the forum search feature often enough to remember where it is. It would be nice if it was more easily accessible from the forum itself (say a simple link button at the top (or bottom) of the page.
Usually, when I need to search for a particular forum thread, I can't find the thread which tells me how to FIND the search feature. 'D
Just kidding, I remember where it is, but I don't often back up far enough to find it, as I believe in always blundering forwards, rather than trying a different, more efficient route. Wandering though thirteen different pages, filled with long-dead and ignored threads is SO much easier! 'D
