There is no POV. Well, the information is the author's point of view or belief. But that's different.

Oh... I almost forgot. Dark Bondage is what you see at the bottom of the ocean if the serial killer forgot to stab you before tossing your body into the water.

I'm consulting with an author and as I read his manuscript, I see he could use some help with POV. It'd be nice to have a definitive reference that I could point him to. Count this as a sale lost! ;)

For it to be for sale, I'd need to write a book on writing with POV as one chapter. Even if I wanted to do that, why would anyone buy it? I have no credentials. Not a published author. Not an English teacher. Never worked for a publisher.

Well, I disagree. That's specifically what I would hope you wouldn't do. I have read plenty of works with POV as one chapter. Hoping to get you to do something a little more extensive. I think POV offers enough material to do more than a single chapter.

That doesn't stop 99% of the other people. You know what the subject is about, you can explain it real well, so do it. The worse case is you only sell one or two copies per year for the next 20 years, but you may sell 100 copies in the next month

I can tell you that I consult with at least two to three different authors every week. Many of them have POV issues and you explain the right way to approach POV better than anyone else I've run into. Assuming you did a nice job on it, you would have my recommendation to the authors I deal with.

I'd need to write a book on writing with POV as one chapter.

One chapter to explain what Point of View is and layout the main types, then another chapter for each major type of POV with examples. It won't be a huge book, but will be more than one chapter.

You're right. That's where it's always been. And it makes sense because they're author tools.

The quality of the articles seems rather variable. It's a shame authors can't provide feedback by way of a score, but I guess that isn't feasible since some are external to SOL.
