We really should be grateful for the service that Lazeez provides to us here. :-)
I stuffed up the original title of this thread. I intended to check the spelling of 'logomachy' but forgot to come back and edit it. I sent an email to the webmaster after noticing my mistake (we can edit our posts but not thread titles). Less than fifteen minutes after I made the OP, Lazeez had sent me an email saying my request was "Fixed."
I wholeheartedly agree. SOL is the best story site on the internet. Service and comfort to readers and authors are outstanding. I didn't even need to think where to post my first story when I decided to write one.
One day Lazeez will decide to fix the only and minor inconvenience the scoring system on SOL represents and the site will be perfect.

Not gonna happen. The scoring system has had far more iterations than Lazeez would care to remember. It was before my time, but I gather there was an exhaustive consultation process before the last round, and Lazeez was adamant that would be the last, final, and please-God-make-this-torture-end change he would ever make to the scoring system.

Not gonna happen. Whatever scoring system is in place, authors and readers will work out ways to game it :(

Granted that will happen the day after he perfects a mind control app.

Lazeez: "The scoring system is perfect. There is no way it could possibly be improved."
Chorus of Authors and Readers, all with slightly glazed eyes: "The scoring system is perfect. There is no way it could possibly be improved."
Lazeez: "No one will ever complain about it again."
Chorus of Authors and Readers, all with slightly glazed eyes: "No one will ever ... complain ... wait, what did you just say? The scoring system is patently unfair!"
Lazeez: "So much for the Mark I Mind Control Device. Next time I'm not using Drool Pal, I'll go back to custom coding, so it works"
Following on with the theme of what a great job Lazeez does for us, I thought I had found a trivial but constructive feature to request.
I asked if he could allow those typing into message boxes like I am now to set a general option for their preference between British and American English.
His Answer: That's not me. SOL only specifies the language as English, and it's your browser doing the spellchecking, using whatever dictionaries you have it set to use.
