New feature for Authors on ZBookStore (following)

Lazeez Jiddan (Webmaster)

I added facilities for readers to follow authors on Bookapy/ZBookstore.

Now a reader can follow their favorite authors and get notifications about them.

New book release notifications are announced by email and private messages.

New Blog entries by the author are announced by private emails.

Authors can send bulk private messages to followers who allow it.

Suggestions for additional features and bug reports are welcome.

Thanks, Lazeez.

All of this sounds great. Are SOL blog posts separate from zBookstore ones?

For a suggestion: Would it be possible to get a bulk discount option? On other sites I'm able to reduce prices of all titles by a percentage.

Announced by the author or the system?

It's automated.

When you post a blog entry, the system looks for followers allowing notifications of blogs and sends them messages with links.

Same for new book releases.

It's an alternative of promoting your new release, getting advanced reads to garner a better rating for you initial release (ex: weekly NYT's Best-seller), as all the initial sales are counted the day of the public release.

I've done that for years on several alternate self-publishing sites—which are mostly now defunct—taken over and later abandoned by the 'great river in South America'.

Except here, there are no actual sales, merely notifications of the latest releases, for the same purpose, to boost the initial sales a bit.

Would it be possible to send a one-time email to readers who have purchased a book from us to ask them to follow us?

Wouldn't be good for our mail server. It would almost surely result in a block everywhere.

I'll work on a way that prompts users one time to follow the authors that they have bought books from the next time they visit the site.
