Its a modern tool, use it. Ignor the old farts who tell you to go find an editor. Yes having a 2nd human eye is great, but they fuk up too, I have one but make it part of your process.
I second the opinion that human editors are over-rated.
Most editors I have tried had ego problems and had minimal understanding of technology and science and the nature of western military organizations.
When I first started writing, I begged several people listed on SOL (as editors) for help. Most of them told me my stuff was shit and needed to be drastically changed. The readers of my shit did not agree that my drivel needed gross changes, if one is to offer any credence to the story ratings.
As for story composition, character development, and plot lines, ignore editors. Your best editor is yourself. Write stuff, then come back to it a week or two later. As for grammar, syntax, and spelling, ignore editors and use your computer.
On second thought, just ignore humanity. Humans have a 40.000 year history of fucking up everything they touch. One should write only to please our robot overlords. Odin will have a special place in Valhalla for the machines that replace the weak and nonperformant humans.
