Huh, was reading a story and this morning got the message the story was deleted yesterday by author request. Looked them up and they be gone too! Anyone know why?

When someone creates a new author account, it won't show up in the author lit until the author posts at least one story.
The reverse happens if the author starts having stories removed. It won't show in the author list with zero stories in the system, even if the author account still technically exists.

...except when management has hidden a/some stories whilst a dispute is being resolved. I've seen this in the past (some years ago) with an author appearing on the list but with a storycount of zero.

Yes, but there are still stories in the system under the hood, so not the same.
looks like I misspelled the name...no wonder it didn't show up for me lol! The story was called "All is Fair"

Anyone know why?
There still appears to be an active e-mail, so you can always, you know, ask them....
The Novalist is also published elsewhere. The Island has the same number of chapters there as on SOL. NewU has more chapters there but updates are more recent on SOL, suggesting he is catching up with the other site.
All Is Fair is published on the other site, but not here, last updated in October.

Recent chapters on SOL have been poor quality IMO - lots and lots of words relative to story progression. I wondered whether the author was churning out chaff for a patronage site.

From his author's page elsewhere:
In other news. Both NewU and AIF will be getting published soon, hopefully around Christmas 2025 (if all goes to plan) which means that most of the chapters will need to be taken off here. They will still be availble on Discord and Patreon, but they wont be able to be published for free on any publically accessible website.
So readers on SOL will need to catch up with NewU and / or download it as soon as it's final chapters are published here. Assuming he finishes uploading it before pulling it for Amazon.
All Is Fair is still up on the other site, but his author's page already says it's no longer available, suggesting it will be removed soon.
