Silly question I know but is there a way to see who is following you?? probably not, just thought I'd ask?

@Scorpio1975

I remember this being asked for before so it's probably on management's list for consideration.

It might discourage some people from following an author. However, the ability for an author to message their followers might be welcomed, and it would be up to the follower if the chose to respond. (How about letting an author have the ability to post stories that were visible only to followers?)

I'd imagine that would extremely limit readers of the author's story and I can't think of a reason why an author wouldn't want to do that instead having the story available all readers...

It would discourage everyone from following me ;-)

I'd welcome that. It would be a useful way of getting information to the readers without it getting buried in the 'gravy' or in a blog post that few will read.

I can think of many ways that might be abused. We've already got three tiers of readers, I wouldn't welcome another.

SOL does a good job keeping people's privacy, keeping them anonymous unless they intentionally show themselves (like posting something or emailing someone). Some might not follow an author if they know they will lose that anonymity, thus the author loses followers.

Posting stories that only followers can see is a bad idea for many reasons.

Pertaining to what I copied from @awnlee jawking's post, I thought followers and blogs were connected. I thought if an author posted a blog, his followers would be notified. That would be something nice to have.

Wattpad had something where, if you posted a blog, there was a box to check to send it to followers. But what do SOL readers really want when they follow an author? If simply to be notified of a new story post (I assume that happens), then sending them more messages/notices could cause people not to follow an author. Wsttpad was more of a social media site. SOL is a story site.

To be honest, I don't know what happens when someone follows an author. I obviously made an assumption about blogs that isn't true.

To be honest, I don't know what happens when someone follows an author.

As far as I can tell, (a) any post and story update by an author I follow will appear in my stream, and (b) by default any new story by a followed author will appear in my library.

Is a blog a post? What so you mean by a "stream"?

(b) any new story by a followed author will appear in my library

That's cool.

On the home page, right under the navigation bar, on top of the Random Story, there is two words 'Stream' and 'My Stream'. Click 'My Stream' to see what your followed authors posted (new stories, updates, and blog entries).

Click 'My Stream'

Never knew to do that.

The navigation bar has "Twitter." Should that now be "X" or "X (formerly Twitter)"? Will the new generation not know what Twitter is?
