One of those things, along with all of the other things that have happened over the last couple of years, is that there is now an incredible shortage of mag citrate. Those wonderful little bottles that cost $1.12 at Wal-Mart of the 'lemon' flavoring that make the Earth move. Or at least your bowels.
Apparently there was ONE report of an adverse reaction, and somehow they figured out it MAY have Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens in it. So, there's been a 'voluntary' recall on it, as of LAST summer, and there's still no product on the shelves in North America.
I thought this might be of interest to those of us who are getting a bit older and may or may not need 'assistance' that way. I wouldn't have known about it, but I'm getting ready for a colonoscopy tomorrow (yes, today's going to be a crappy day - pun intended) and instead of spending $2.24 plus tax for two bottles and being done with it, I ended up spending close to $20 for the OTC stuff. If nothing else, it shouldn't let things ice up inside - seriously, they use the same stuff that you drink as an aircraft de-icer antifreeze.
What a crock of shit. (pun intended again.)
Double ETA to add I read the label on the bottle wrong. It's not aircraft deicer, but it sure is (eventually) doing a job on me>
