Has anybody thought about what Dizyntk facial features look like? We know they have large eyes and ears on top of their heads, but I'm thinking about mouth, nose, whiskers, teeth, etc. Are they closer to felines or humans in that regard? It would be interesting to see an artist's concept.
Just a couple of thoughts.
First, Eric Wolf's thought that the Goddess looks more like an angel from human mythology than a dizyntk, but the dizyntk don't seem to think she's strange. That feels more like they'll have similar features to humans except where noted.
Second, is the comment in the prologue for book 2 about their fur. They don't have a fur coat the same with that a terrestrial cat does, or a Kzin for that matter. Again, that feels like it makes them more 'human' looking, at least to me.
Their teeth are sharp. I don't know about incisors but I'd imagine they're elongated to a degree.
The one place I remember them being described as looking feline was part of the Protectorate's propaganda, though I might be missing other places.
The original descriptions seem to skirt around facial features, specifically if they have a "muzzle", or if their noses are closer to human or feline. I have to guess that their features are more human because there don't seem to be any issues concerning kisses! I forget which character said it, but when the humans first arrived in the Imperium en mass, they remarked upon how "cute" the Dizyntk are. The propaganda about their appearance was, of course, dispelled as they interacted. The soldiers also had armor that made them look bigger and fiercer than they looked normally.
He posted early versions of his Dizyntk stories over on asstr.org around 2010. The ones here are behind a paywall now, but think they were longer versions. One of his files on asstr described them. Took a look and found this describing their appearances.
