I'm working with a new writer who has a different slant on an 'Axeman' story. We're all different, and anyone who reads those stories that Girvan, Morningfrost, and I have posted knows that we can't agree on what the rules are. So, of course this new guy is different yet, but I don't want to tell him "You're fucking wrong!". I mean, _I_ screwed up the dates, right? And I changed the way magic works on purpose, because the way Shaddoth described it just doesn't work. Even _he_ changed that, later in his story. So, who am I to tell this new guy that he has to change his vision?
Anyway, he's getting down about some of the feedback he's getting from his various alpha readers and proofreaders. Right. He's not Shaddoth, so we probably aren't going to get Shaddoth's writing from him. On the other hand, Shaddoth isn't writing any more, and this guy is. And I like what he's come up with so far.
So, I'm thinking about asking him to go ahead and post what he's got here. Normally, I'm dead against posting an unfinished story, but I don't want him to give up. I'm hoping that, if he posts his few finished chapters, he'll get enough encouragement to continue. What say you?
