I recently watched The Amazing Digital Circus and would like to share my opinions about it with you.
Despite this being called a “review”, it’s not a professional or analytical review at all. It’s more like a (very quick) commentary, but this wouldn’t sound quite as catchy as a title (I’m open to suggestions on how to title these posts, which I plan to do more often).
Ideally, I would like to rate the episodes on Letterboxd, but it sadly doesn’t have TV shows (yet), so I’ll leave my public ratings here (I also dislike IMDB, so no ratings or even an account there).
My (totally subjective) rating system is as follows:
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Loved it. Couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Very likely to re-watch often.
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Really enjoyed it despite some jank. A few snippets or scenes were skipped. Maybe will re-watch.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ = Alright enough. Skipped a bunch of scenes, but for the most part, it's fine. Unlikely to re-watch often, if at all.
2 ⭐⭐ = Skipped many scenes. Very boring or just really kinda bad.
1 ⭐ = Dropped it. Either not my cup of tea or a truly, truly bad movie.
There are no “in-betweens” or intermediary ratings, like 4.5, 3.5, etc.
My ratings are simple, straightforward, and reflect personal tastes and re-watchability, not (necessarily) professional quality or artistic merit.
My ratings are entirely personal and reflect only what pleases me as a “consumer”, so to speak.
If you like me and my works, you’re probably going to like the same stuff I do and, conversely, dislike what I also dislike, so these lists (or “reviews”) might be a good guide for what media to watch… or avoid.
Ratings 4 and 5 mean you’re very likely to enjoy a work.
Rating 3 is a coin flip. It might be a hit, it might be a dud. It’s up to you to take the risk.
Ratings 1 and 2 mean “generally avoid” unless you’re really curious about a work or something.
With these introductions out of the way, here are my opinions about: The Amazing Digital Circus.
The Amazing Digital Circus (2025-2026)
Overall: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The humor is excellent, but the “therapy talk” is annoying.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Episode 1 (4) Yeah, I can see why the show became as big as it did.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Episode 2 (4) A game NPC facing an existential crisis is a banger premise for episode 2! 😂
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Episode 3 (5) The therapy parts are more miss than hit, but this episode is a miracle regardless
⭐⭐⭐ Episode 4 (3) A nothingburger episode (burger. Heh.)
⭐⭐⭐ Episode 5 (3) Has one of the BEST jokes I've ever seen, but the therapy-ing is getting annoying.
⭐⭐ Episode 6 (2) I feel like they ran out of ideas already.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Episode 7 (5) Dear lord wtf (This show is SO GOOD when it sticks to the central plot!!)
⭐⭐⭐ Episode 8 (3) ENOUGH WITH THE THERAPY!!
⭐⭐ Episode 9 (2) Should have been 30min. The therapy stuff is just too much.
