Hello readers,
It's been a minute, hasn't it? I thought I'd pop in to give a little update on the state of things. So let's go!
Jane Finds Herself - My stalwart, not so little story, nears it's conclusion and it is insane to think how long I've been writing this thing. I hope you've enjoyed the twist in chapter 47 and that the explanation made sense in the most recent chapter. I've been sitting on that reveal for almost year now, uncertain if I'd actually use it, but it was fun to finally pay it off. Anyway, I recently finished writing Chapter 50 and there should be one last one after that to wrap everything up. I'll likely do a full breakdown and dissection on this story in the future, and would love to get all your thoughts on it before then. Feel free to keep writing comments and sending me messages; I do read ALL of them, though I stopped responding to most comments (more because I don't know if people see the responses, not because I don't read them).
His Sister's Keeper - As mentioned in the end note, that story is currently on a break as I post the new Science Club Episode. Responses to the initial five chapters has been pretty mixed, with scores dropping each and every week. I kind of expected that, since it is something very outside my normal writing style and story tropes. I get it if it isn't for you, that's why it was put on my secondary account ghostwritten after dark, and not the main one. It will have new chapters posted in July, with the next drop of chapters 6-10 over 5 weeks. Beyond that, I think there will be more but it will depend on readership. There is sort of a loose 5-chapters equal one week in universe plan, so there should be 30 chapters if it continues on to it's conclusion... but I don't really know if it will get that far. While this exact story might not incorporate people's direct feedback, as there is a narrative in place, I will use it to help craft future stories on this secondary account. This story always was always meant as a testbed for what does and doesn't work for this darker narrative style of story, which I am not so versed in. Please keep all suggestions and advice coming!
Science Club - EP.5 Collateral Damaged - The students of Madison High are back with a problem. The worst case scenario has happened, and Heat somehow got out to an unsuspecting student. That's the set-up for this installment of the Science Club series. Readership is low, but expected, as this endeavor was sort of flawed to begin with but it has taught me a lot about juggling multiple characters and storylines, which may come in handy in the future. This one will run for the month of June until the Episode's conclusion, after that, there should be one last Episode to go and the series will be concluded. At that point, all long-running series and stories will be done and who knows what I'll come up with in the future.
That's about it for now. I'm trying to figure out what comes next after Jane Finds Herself concludes, I might possibly revisit a past story or maybe do something new. I'm leaning more into finishing a past blemish; something that has bothered me for over a year now, but we'll see. I'm ok with the account taking a little break with lower readership stories for a little while while I refocus toward new adventures (and IRL summer stuff, of course).
If you made it this far, thanks for reading. As always, feel free to reach out and leave me your thoughts. Happy reading!
