There seems to be a great controversy over the use of AI in generating a story. My opinion? It is crap and most authors who use it are very, very lazy. Of course, that is just my opinion. How so many readers are giving such drek high scores is, to me, a problem that is rooted in our lack of quality education. If stories with such content is considered "great," then what about well-crafted stories that take months or years of creating, proof-reading, editing, etc.?
Unless the "author" has taken the time to do all of the above and checked to make sure it all makes sense (something that ALL contributors should do), then they should not take any credit for what they post. That is, by all accounts, plagiarism, as has been mentioned in other posts.
I will make this pledge (as have other posters here): I will not use AI in creating any works with my name attached, except, perhaps, for spell checking (sometimes I am a terrible speller) and research related to the story I post. Should you find anything that appears to you, the reader, to be AI generated, I invite you to call me out on that. I won't be using AI, but you are welcome to see if you can find such passages.
