Weekend Update - April 26: After Dark Edition

Posted at

Hello readers,

Back for another blog this weekend with some updates.

Jane Finds Herself as usual carries on. Not too much to say about it this week. I hope everyone is still enjoying it. As the next few weeks go by, I’m going to start asking questions here about what I should work on next and how you’d like stories to be posted. A big thank you to Laz, for adding the polling feature, which will really help gather information and data from all of you in a much easier way for those that don’t like DMing.

Science Club Episode 4: Steaming Vengeance has finished and views were a lot lower than I’d hoped. Scoring was also not exactly what I was hoping for based off the response from Episode 3. I’d love some feedback on why it didn’t work as well as the previous chapters. I know the long delay between 3 and 4 likely killed readership, so that’s very much on me, but what marks did I miss for you.

Now as I noted, I’m not stopping with this series. It will go on with Chapter 5: Collateral Damaged and Chapter 6: TBD which will be the finale. There won’t be as big of delay for the next episode, and I can confirm it’ll return June 3rd, 2026, for its 5-chapter run.

So, what’s happening on Wednesdays, I can hear you ask. Am I leaving you in a lurch, stuck reading the much better works from the many great authors here on SOL? Nope. No need to realize I suck and can barely tie two words together if my life depended on it (my poor, poor editor).

I am happy (or saddened – depending on your point of view) to finally announce a new story for my thought dead secondary account ‘ghostwritten after dark’. That’s right, I’m FINALLY posting something over there for the people who’ve kept asking for new, darker content. I promised a while ago that I would do it and I’m ready to make good on it.

His Sister’s Keeper… is a tale of love, blackmail, and manipulation set during a summer vacation in a small lakeside community. Joey and Gwen Tanner, two close and loving siblings, whose lives are about to be turned upside down by one simple lapse in judgement. They’ll do things they never imagined and endure humiliations and degradations to mold them both into something different.

This will be a minimum ten-chapter story (5 weeks on, 5 weeks off for Science Club, and then another 5 weeks on, and depending on reader response/feedback, it could continue past that. This is my first real foray into this style of story, so please let me know your thoughts. The overall goal for this story project is to revive the ‘after dark’ account, play in some darker themes, and if it goes well, use the experience for a larger story in the future. Again, feedback will be key here, so please leave comments or send messages on what you like/don’t like about this story. It will matter for this and future writing projects.

I hope all this was exciting and not awful and terrible. Thank you as always for the kind words and messages/comments. I write for fun, so I hope reading it is just as enjoyable on your side of the screen.

Thank you for reading,
-ghostwritten
