Cozycore and more

Posted at Updated:

Got a couple of new short stories out to kick off a new anthology series that's been rattling around the ol' brainbox: Cozycore. One Brave Night and Mooma Takes a Bath are the first two installments. Cozycore is a series of short stories connected only by their shared vibe: coziness. Each standalone tale will spotlight love through care, comfort, and cuddles.

I’ve had One Brave Night in a near-ready state for a few months, but I wanted to make sure I had at least two Cozycores ready to go for the first posting to kind of demonstrate what readers can expect. I plan to add to the anthology sporadically, basically when I'm between other things or when an idea really hits me and I just have to write it, which is kinda what happened with Mooma after having One Brave Night in a drawer for a while.

Switching gears, I'm so flattered to see a couple of my stories are finalists for Clitorides (Courage for Best Gay/Lesbian/Gender Bending Story and Sunday Scaries for Best Erotic Story by a New Author) and myself nominated for Best New Author!

When I posted my first story a year ago, I had no idea if anyone would be remotely interested in anything I had to say. The overwhelmingly positive reception I received here at SOL is the reason I kept writing. It's been such a meaningful experience to see that there are people who connect with the stories I have to share, and I'm so, so grateful for everyone who has found something to connect with in my stories, and for this platform that is a bastion of free speech for all in a time when free speech on the internet is under assault.

I also want to thank every kind soul who sent me a message after my last blog post a few months ago. I appreciated hearing from more experienced writers. I took the unanimous advice and shelved the story that was giving me trouble in favor of a new one with no regrets! The writing has been going very well, though life annoyances have gotten in the way over the past month. But life annoyances also spurred me to write Mooma Takes a Bath so...you win some, you lose some, right?

I think these couple of short stories are probably the last new stories I'll have out until I finish my novel-length project, though never say never. As I've said before, I'm trying something different with this one. I suspect as I continue on my writing journey, I'm just kind of following whatever appeals to me in the moment, and this time it was a story that has no erotic elements and won't be centered around romance. Because of that, not sure it'll go here, but we'll cross that bag of snakes when we come around the mountain! My goal is to have it completed and out (somewhere) by July.
