Hello readers,
It’s been a long time since my last blog post, let me explain what’s been going on.

Since my last blog post in December, I sort of checked out from writing. It was a combination of burn-out and internalized stress of trying to write more content and stories than I could actually handle with my available free time. All that just sort of snowballed into a downward spiral of self-defeatism when one of the other projects I was working on failed at what I was intending it to do. What you’ve been reading each week was my pre-written cushion of chapters slowly dwindling away until the final one posted this week (Jane Finds Herself chapter 28).

Now the good news, I’ve not given up and I’ve already completed chapter 29 this week and chapter 30 is going well so far. The current writing plan is to stabilize Jane Finds Herself and build back up a little chapter cushion of a few weeks in advance. It’ll help keep the pressure off writing other stories and characters for the short term. Once things get back into a comfortable groove, the next thing to come out is a new Science Club Episode, I just don’t know when that will be.

I would like to say sorry to those of you hoping and expecting a new story for the ghostwritten after dark account. I promised there would be a new story there for February, but unfortunately that was the one that just fell apart. Tonally, it was too slow and plodding for that account, which is for riskier material. I think those of you interested in that type of content are owed something ‘wild and hot’. I do have a goal this year to have at least 3 5-chapter stories over there over the course of 2026 (or fewer but longer stories).

With all that out of the way, I’d like to address my request for feedback from my last blog post on December 7th, 2025. Thank you to everyone who reached out and offered their thoughts. I hope and believe I replied to each message sent. The main takeaway that was unanimous was that I should keep writing Jane Finds Herself until I see fit to conclude it. Fair enough. The break seems to have helped reinvigorate me and I think I have a clear path towards the conclusion.

I never planned for this story to expand to the point of likely being a 700-page book, but here we are. It’s been an experience, that’s for sure; one I don’t think I am skilled enough have pursued. I hope I can stick the landing for you all and thank you for coming along on this journey with Jane.

Thank you for your patience and time,
-ghostwritten
