Hello readers,
It's been a few weeks since my last blog, so let's catch up.
In truth, I haven't had too much to blog about, since I've just been posting Jane Finds Herself on Saturdays only. Behind the scenes though, I've started work on a new story for the 'ghostwritten after dark' account. Due to the upcoming holidays and all that, you likely won't start seeing it posted until February. I want to get a large part of the story done in advance, so I'm using these quieter posting periods to do it. It should be fun though, and I hope you'll check it out when it starts up.
Jane Finds Herself is still chugging along, how's everyone still liking it? I'm expecting some mixed reactions to some of the choices I've made with the characters, so I hope you stick with it. Not everything can go swimmingly for Jane, otherwise things get too boring. There is still plenty more to go with this story, and I have chapters written till the end of the year. Do you like that it's continuing week to week or would you prefer some breaks in there? I'm using this story as a test to see if it's better to have a story run continuously or is it better to have 3 to 5 week breaks with something else taking it's place (like I normally do). Feel free to give me your thoughts on the subject.
This upcoming week, on Wednesday we have the return of Family Reunion. I asked if people wanted more and boy did you let me know it, so thank you. This will be a 5-week run of chapters that finishes just before Christmas. I'll be honest and say I struggled with this after the first few chapters. As I was writing I planned for it to go a certain way, and then realized it didn't make sense for the characters. There was going to be a larger narrative about a rival frat and a prank war that goes too far, until I stopped and realized it had nothing to do with our 2 main characters. I made it primarily about Logan and Lindsay and their relationship, so I hope it is still enjoyable.
In the new year, I'm starting to plan what the next story will be for Wednesdays following the end of Family Reunion. Is there anything in particular you'd like? The plan is Science Club Episode 4, but would you prefer something else instead (and that will move a few weeks down). I could do something completely new; or continue an older story; or add a Book II to Sister's Servant (I have a narrative plan). Feel free to let me know what you'd be interested in. I always like hearing what people would be interested in.
