The bad guy doesn't die at end, but...

Homecoming was supposed to be a one-shot piece; a psychopath doing unspeakable things to his older sister that he'd lusted after forever, but I got a lot of hate at how much of an asshole Jason was. That was fair; I designed him to be an awful person. But I actually felt bad for Jolene. The way I left it, she was doomed to misery for the rest of her life, so I wanted her to be able to... well, "heal" probably isn't the right word, but at least come to terms with her reality and find some form of joy in it. How to do that without breaking the plot so far? I decided to add a community that she could relate to. Family that would be there for her. Basically Jason is one fucked up dude, but around him orbits a collection of broken toys that can draw strength from each other, although in seriously abnormal ways. Jason is correct when he tells his sister that he gets to decide what's normal for the household. I tried to ease her into a new philosophy where things weren't as bad as they seemed at the end of the first part; I think I did okay on that, though Jason is still an asshole. He's just *her* asshole, and she can manage him a bit. Anyway, I felt better with this ending, a bit less despair and a bit of hope and acceptance. We'll see what the audience thinks.
