Weekend Update - Oct 26

Hello readers,

Sorry I didn't write a blog last weekend, was just busy running around. Let's get into some things.
First off, writing wise things have been pretty rough for me of late. I don't really know why or what's going on, the ideas are there and the story is there, but the words just don't feel right as I type them out. I mentioned a while ago about wanting to start up a new story for the 'after dark' account, that story current sits with 3 versions of the first two pages... and I hate all three of them. This week, I decided to move on and start Family Reunion chapter 4, and that isn't much better (sitting at 4 pages for an entire week's time, kind of). I don't really know what's going on, could be a little writer's block or something, I'm not sure. As I said, the ideas and the story is in there, it just doesn't want to go down onto the page. I'm sure a lot of other writers here go through this, I'm hoping I'll snap out of it soon.

On to positive things, Jane Finds Herself is still doing well. Thank you to everyone who's been reading and following along each week. As of me writing this blog, it is currently sitting with a review score of 7.83; it is now tied with The Creek for my highest ever scored story. That's quite remarkable based on where it started, especially for a 'much sex' based story. Thank you to everyone who has been giving it a rating and I hope you enjoy what's to come in the future.

For those that have read this week's chapter (chapter 16), you may have noticed the chapter ends in a weird place, kind of mid-scene. I don't usually do that, unless it is for dramatic effect like a big reveal, so I hope you aren't too bothered by it. I thought I should explain what happened. Regular readers of mine might know I typically write stories in blocks of five chapters and then the story goes on hiatus, but that didn't happen here. As I was writing chapter 15, it kind of went long, very long. So, I thought 'why not break it in half and add a little more detail?' That's what I started to do before the Jane's visit to Brad and his friend.

Then I started to write that scene, which I guessed would be about 3000 words. I was wrong on that estimation by several thousand, I hadn't even really gotten into the main thrust of the night and I'd already topped 8,000 words on that additional chapter, so I decided to keep going and add in another chapter (Chapter 17, next weekend) The total word count ended up being over 25,000 combined for all three chapters (15-17). Kind of crazy for what was supposed to be originally just one 4,000 to 8,000 word chapter. Anyway, I hope you like this mini story arc. Truthfully, this story's gone so far off the rails...but in a good way, with more to come.

Next week is the final chapter of Episode 3 - The Room Drama, for the Science Club series. The scores for this one have been high as well, but views have dropped. Don't worry, fans of this series, more will come in the future. I love this series, it is so different and complex to write, balancing all the different characters, storylines, and sex scenes. Feel free to let me know what you'd like to see in the future. I have 3 more Episodes planned, but that's just where I've gotten to so far. We'll see how it goes.

As always, thank you to everyone who's been reading, commenting, and messaging me. That's why I do this. No Patreon. No Bookstore Ads. No Premium Membership Required. It's free; just for the love of the game.

All the best,
-ghostwritten
