Hello readers,
I’m a little late on the blog this week, sorry about that. Let’s start with the week that was.
This past week – We started on Wednesday with the second episode of the Science Club series, the follow-up to Snowed In, called Aftermath. So far, views are ok, not great. What I feared might happen with this writing format happened, with most of the previous readers dropping off/unaware of the continuation. That kind of sucks because Snowed In did really well and now I kind of regret this style choice.
That being said, I shall carry forward with the plan. Views are still well above my fail line, and it is only the first chapter of a 5-chapter episode. I’ll see how things progress and hope more people return to this series. This will NOT be an Ashley’s Education situation, it WILL continue with Episode 3.
After that, Saturday saw the next chapter of Jane Finds Herself. Response to this story has grown week by week since its return with chapter 6, so that makes me feel good. I’m glad it has found its audience, which means more chapters in the future. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see in the future. I will let you know I’ve already started work on the next batch of chapters for this one, but I won’t give hints.
This upcoming week – Wednesday sees chapter 2 of Aftermath, as the students gather in Linda’s classroom for a discussion about what happened at the fair. As things go on, ideas and concerns arise about the use of such a drug. Some want to market it while others want to horde it only for themselves.
On Saturday, the final chapter of Jane Finds Herself for this little story-arc will be released. It is the final night of Jane’s sleepover at Riley’s, what kinds of mischief will the two girls get up to? This is a longer chapter, so buckle up. I won’t go too much into detail on what happens, since chapter 9 just posted a day ago.
After that, Jane Finds Herself will go on hiatus for five weeks, replaced by Undercover, a story I still need a better name for. I like taking breaks from stories, I find it gives me a chance to reset and think about how the next batch of chapters will go. I can gather feedback from readers comments and messages, and tweak or change things if something isn’t working. It also gives me the opportunity to write something new and different, which can be a welcome breather.
And that’s it for this week’s update. Lots of things in the works and I’m happy you chosen to read my weird drivel. Thank you for your support.
