Hey, other writers - ever get that spectacular inspiration, that idea which just clicks! You are thrilled about it! It is fun, it is sexy, it has to work!
Then you publish it and it just kind of sits there.
We have all had those. But, it happens. In the end, this is not a contest - though sometimes we are competing against ourselves. As far as I know, there are no "this is where you compare with other writers" stat pages. And if there were, who cares? Once again, this is for fun, right? If not, well, maybe another line of work would not be a bad idea.
I recently wrote a very short story called Ms. Cindy Gets Her Fingers Dirty At The Flower Shop. For one thing, that is a HORRIBLE title. But, it was a fun story. It was the further adventures of a character I introduced in Ms. Cindy's School for Anilingus. That was a pretty hoping story, so I thought I would continue her adventures outside of her school life.
Meanwhile, I had posted two other stories at the same time. Both of those comparatively took off!
That one...not so much. Ah well. Does that mean I am going to give up on it? Fuck no. Ms. Cindy will still get her fingers dirty in the flower shop. Honestly, it is a fun little bit of toss off fluff to throw out there while working on some more "serious" stuff.
