When you're reading a story (this was years ago on a different website) and you see chapters being posted on a regular basis, you don't give much thought to world events. You go about your life, mundane or exciting, until something causes you to pause and go "Wait. What?"
The day the great tsunami hit Japan was an ordinary day for most Americans. I didn't think much about it other than be horrified at the loss of life and the potential for radioactivity escaping from their affected nuclear power plant. It wasn't until a few weeks later, when no chapters had been posted to Summer So Hot! that I took note and made a discreet inquiry into the last time Moran had been online at the writing website. It was the day of the tsunami! You can only imagine the chill that ran up and down my spine.
I posted this news, and over the next few days about one hundred messages appeared, all worried about this young Japanese girl. Eventually, she came back to the site, but the story was already tagged for removal (it had under 18 characters and the site's rules changed). I asked her if I could grab it and post it at a new site I was creating, blah blah, and that's how Summer So Hot! was saved. She said she was stopping writing erotica, moving on, and I never heard from her again.
