In his blog post, Old Dave asks:
If we can do it for the pets we love why in the name of everything holy can we not do it for the people we love.
Slippery Slope that's why.
We start with good intentions and soon enough things get perverted into the most horrific of things. There is nothing worse than somebody killing in the name of compassion.
The medical institution should be tasked with saving lives. Period. Taking lives in the name of "easing pain and suffering" is still killing. A doctor should never be tasked with, nor allowed to kill, no matter the excuse.
Death is never compassionate and it should always be off limit, except maybe as capital punishment for murder.
'Easing pain and suffering' definition can be expanded uncontrollably to fit a despotic government needs.
Look up 'MAiD' in Canada.
It's basically a death service. MAiD stands for 'Medical Assistance in Death'. They added the 'i' to obscure its actual meaning 'MAD' would have been more accurate as in are you effin MAD?
Canada's MAiD service killed over 10,000 people in canada in 2021. It accounted for nearly 5% of all death.
(I couldn't find the article that I read back in November 2022 that MAiD killings in 2022 had already exceeded 15,000 as of the end of September 2022.)
Teenagers suffering mild depression will be approved and killed by MAiD as of March 2023.

A disabled veteran woman was recommended to apply for MAiD when she applied for a chair lift in her new house.
They created pamphlets targeted at kids explaining and promoting MAiD. They are fucking targeting kids with this shit.

They encouraged the store chain 'Simons' to create ads normalizing suicide.
In an environment such as Canada currently, how far off do you think it would be that they automatically schedule you to an appointment with MAiD if you were to do something that displeases the government? How far is it that they would interpret your protest against vaccine mandates as wishing to die and send you to MAiD after they confiscate your money like they did with the truckers protests?
No government backed entity, whether the medical institution or any other agency should ever be tasked with killing people. We know government agencies tend to want to expand their own power thus expanding their own 'responsibility' in order to guarantee their own jobs and will seek to include new issues to fix. That's why now in Canada they seek to include depression under the reasons allowed for this death service.
Any death service is a murder service.
