Read it and judge it based upon its own merits and how well it's written, not upon your visceral gut reactions to the scenario itself. You may not have noticed, but the world itself is a complicated place, and people can and do have opinions that differ from yours. An early and hasty judgement based upon your own prejudices is often wrong.
In other words, this is a love story, not a stroke story, set in a future that hopefully won't happen, but otherwise is similar to every other love story set during a war. Now, anyone care to revisit their scores, because you're ashamed you rushed to judgement?
