This week with Arlene and Jeff:
...The water filter was comprised of a small hand pump that had a line to reach the water. On the end of the line was a floating pre-filter that positioned the intake valve just below the surface and kept out any trash as the water was pumped into the line. As the pump was squeezed, the water would pass from the intake on up the line and through the one-micron filter, then on into whatever receptacle they chose, which today was a two-liter flexible water jug.
As Phillip leaned to put the water line into the stream, Dessie pinched his ass and hissed. He jerked upright and almost fell into the water before his brain put together what the sound and pinch had been. "Don't do that," he hissed out. "Damn, Girl, I just aged ten years. Baby, you know I'm scared shitless of snakes."
"I'm sorry, Hon," she said while barely holding back giggles. "I know you don't like snakes, and that goes for me also. I shouldn't have done that, but you have to admit, you sure moved in a hurry."...
Have a goodun;
