I tried to get chapter 47 out for proofing this weekend. It hasn't happened. Why? Uh, life. I've had some life changes recently, good ones but things that have required adjustment on my part. I've started using a Chromebook to help my writing at odd times. It has taken some adjustment but I'm starting to be fond of it. The battery is amazing. As a typist, I've discovered that the Chrome-based Google Docs does not work as well as it does on my mac but the Android installed app works very nicely. As someone who can't wait for text to appear as he types this is a big deal. I'm not a great typist but I'm not hunt and peck either.
For content, the chapter has proved to be longer than I at first anticipated and there is a logical flow at the end I am still working out. As I wrote to someone a bit ago ...
You know, Lavi and Melissa are fascinating to me. I once read that a sculptor said something to the effect of 'I do not carve anything, I just reveal what was already there' - and I thought, 'that is such bullshit.' But now I get it. I really do feel like I stumble around with words until they say 'yeah, that is what happened.'
I am going to go to be bed now and think deeply about this. And if the idea of what to do appears just as I'm finally fading off ... I might lose a lot of sleep.
