Adak NAS

I've had several emails about this, so here's the thing.

In OUR actual real history, the Aleuts lived at Adak, Atka, and Nikolski in the US, and Nikolskoye in the Soviet Union. When WW2 rolled around, the government took over Adak and built the base there that later on became Adak NAS. Most, but not all, of the natives were relocated, with a few being 'civilian' contractors. (We're talking a couple of dozen or so, total.) After the war, they were still there, and expanded a little (around 80 - 100 in the mid 80's, which, compared to the 6,000 or so squids and families, weren't really noticeable) When the base closed due to BRAC in the '90's, everything was sold to the Aleut Corporation, and several hundred Aleut people now live there.

The NAS runway is 7,790 feet long. It is asphalt surface, with a PCN of 49/R/B/X/T. A Boeing 737-200 has an ACN of 200. The P-3 Orion was stationed there and used for anti-submarine patrols. MTOW of that plane is 135,000 pounds. MTOW of a 737-200 is 128,000 pounds.

In Cal's history, we didn't kick most of the Aleuts off the island in WWII, so there's a little over three times the number of Aleut people there in 1985 than would have been there in OUR 1985, and that's really the only difference.
