I got my chainsaw ready for tomorrow, to clean up my back yard. Still too wet today. And dark - we're down to 200,000 without power, including us. Wife's work spent $100,000 on a generator, which they didn't have. Several nursing homes and assisted living facilities here have had to evacuate. There are crews coming in from out of state, just like our crews have gone out to other states in the past.
I'm going on a tangent here. What's interesting is that churches with power are open for warming centers, people are inviting family and friends over to stay, and we're just getting the job done. No one is saying where's the government with their help, it's just neighbor helping neighbor, just like after tornadoes down here. We're a disaster area, don't get me wrong. So many trees down, all the streets blocked, other damage. But we're just taking care of it.
