When I began to write this story, I imagined that it would be a fairly short and formulaic piece about a beautiful and worldly girl who goes low and a nerdy and naive guy who goes high.
But as I worked on it, it took a few turns, and a bunch of characters got added, and it got longer and longer. I love these people - all of them - and I have dreams and plans for their lives.
I've got two new chapters finished off and ready to post, and several more chapters sketched out. Chapter 49 will post on September 1.
But I've also spent a fair time of time this summer rereading the whole thing. I've fixed some typos. I've rewritten a scene that I realized was a duplicate of an earlier scene. I've added a few minor details that will help set up future parts of the story.
So if you are one of those people who liked The Bitch, and who fell in love with John and Cheryl and Megan and Ian and Jamie and Julie and Sumi and Dani, then you might want to re-read the previous chapters before you start in on the new material. After all, it's been two and a half years, and you could use a refresher. But a few things have also been added, and a couple of scenes have been completely rewritten - and Chapter 48 has a completely different ending.
I've always thought this was a good story (even though a reader once told me that the events it describes are improbable). But I think the changes I've made to it have resulted in a better story, and I am pleased with the new chapters that I'll be sharing with you in the coming weeks.
