Okay, this is somewhat humorous - at least I think so.
I added the whole couples-feeding-each-other thing as an interesting cultural detail. I had no idea how difficult that would be to continue with, it's not something I actually either enjoy doing or even particularly writing, but now I feel like I'm stuck with it.
Actually I'm surprised I've managed to get as much done with this story as I have. I only really started with the nucleus of chapters 2 and 3. Actually only the scene with Nicko in chapter 2, I knew there was a woman named Aneeka, that she was very nearly a slave but not any idea of her role. I knew it took place at a 'training center' - I did know from the beginning that Linda was in something very like the eventual prisoner rack, though the elevator platforms were a complete surprise later -, that Linda had been taken from Earth. I then had to come up with all of chapter 1 to even make it a story.
All of this is to say, I suspect I'm nearly done with this story even though it's not anywhere near a conclusion. We'll see. I do have fragments of other stories on Allland - that sky description is just too useful not to revisit.
