I went a bit different direction this time, not all sunshine and orgies, because that's what the inspiration, the Muse, directed me to do, if you will. It fit the character arc and the overall theme full of foreboding mixed with joy and reconciliation.
Apologies if this was in any way a jolt. As Frank noted, though, Bruno died happy. He died something..and someone (Monique, his ex-wife) that he loved.
Rest assured that I fully intend follow-up chapters to explain the continued relationships among the surviving characters, reflections on Bruno's legacy, and the further plots and subplots of the story.
As Kenneth Branagh once noted in Dead Again, "This is all far from over."
